A Magical New Way to Learn Dutch: Snow White and Rose Red & Jack and the Beanstalk (Supervision in Ukrainian)
We are delighted to announce the release of our newest workbook “I read in Dutch”, specially designed for children taking their very first steps in learning Dutch — now with Ukrainian supervision. This workbook is part of our growing educational series “Favourite fairy tales” and combines the magic of classic storytelling with an effective language-learning method. Inside the book, children will discover two timeless fairy tales.
The first story, “Snow White and Rose Red“, was written by the Brothers Grimm. It is a heartwarming tale about two sisters with very different personalities, united by deep love and friendship. Through their adventures, young readers learn how kindness, compassion, and mercy can lead to happiness and success. The second story “Jack and the Beanstalk” is an English fairy tale. It follows Jack, a poor but brave and clever boy whose life changes when he receives magical beans. Thanks to his courage and resourcefulness, Jack manages to save his family from poverty — a story that inspires confidence and resilience.
What makes this workbook truly special is its bilingual learning approach. Each fairy tale is presented in Dutch and Ukrainian side by side: the Dutch text on one page and the Ukrainian translation on the opposite page. This allows children to read confidently in Dutch without constantly reaching for a dictionary. New words and expressions are learned naturally, in context, making them easier to remember and use in everyday life.
In addition to reading, the workbook offers extensive writing practice and a wide variety of exercises designed to reinforce new vocabulary and grammar. Parents can easily support their children’s learning process, even if Dutch is new to them as well.
By the end of the workbook, children will have significantly expanded their vocabulary and gained a better understanding of Dutch verb forms — all while enjoying the magic of fairy tales.
Learning a new language has never been this enchanting.
